Cervical Cancer Screening Support Programme
Practice pro forma
Eclipse is working in collaboration with the BLMK Cancer Alliance to enable enhanced uptake of cervical cancer screening across the region.
This project aims to improve overall and equitable patient uptake in cervical cancer screening by:
Identifying vulnerable patients who are overdue their cervical cancer smear.
Risk-stratifying patients to further prioritise testing, using Eclipse’s data-driven insights and a clinical steering group.
Automatically engaging with patient’s using Eclipse’s patient engagement platform.
Educating patients as to the importance of a smear and the benefits of undertaking a formal cancer screening smear test, using patient information material with language and accessibility options.
Conduct analytics around engagement and attendance rates, validating the increased uptake onto the national screening programme.
Once a practice pro forma has been completed and the practice has consented to a patient group being engaged with, the Eclipse tool will send SMS messages to patients, containing a link to a lander page which will explain the importance of the programme for patients. They will then be directed to a short questionnaire where they can express their consent and personal preferences for cervical cancer screening. Practices can then sign into the system and see the lists of patients who have consented, opted out or who would like further information, and systematically book or counsel patients for their smears. This aims to be light-touch and reduce workload for GP practices.
Please complete the pro forma below to provide practice consent for this service.
